On July 1, 2004, the communities Gunsleben, Hamersleben and Neuwegersleben merged to form the community Am Grosse Bruch . The administrative community was dissolved on January 1, 2005 and the municipalities were incorporated into the newly founded administrative community Westliche Börde .

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on October 16, 1995 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : "Seven (4: 3) silver ears of corn in red."

The administrative community consists of seven communities, each symbolically represented by an ear of wheat.

The red and silver tinging is due to the historical affiliation of the places to the Diocese of Halberstadt, as well as to the Archdiocese of Magdeburg (for living out), which also has these tinctures.

The coat of arms was designed by the Heraldic Society "Black Lion" in Leipzig and included in the approval process.
