Gunsleben is a district of the municipality Am Großen Bruch in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1112. A church was built in 1141. In 1224 a farm in Gunsleben and the land belonging to it came from the inheritance of the Adelheid von Loccum-Hallermund to the Counts of Dassel . After they had handed over the farm to their relative Heinrich von Regenstein , the Count of Regenstein donated the farm to the Hamersleben monastery in 1298 . In 1311 the Hildesheim bishop Heinrich II enfeoffed Ludolf von Warberg with 6 hooves in Gunsleben. The cathedral chapter of the Halberstadt cathedral had in Gunsleben tithe . In 1314, the von Alvensleben brothers arranged for the cathedral chapter to transfer these rights to the S. Marie monastery . The Asseburg family had been wealthy here since 1453 at the latest . The Asseburg coat of arms has been preserved as a relief on a manor house built in the 18th century . Next to it is the coat of arms of the von Alvensleben family as evidence of a wedding between the then landowner Christoph Werner von Asseburg and Catharina Helena von Alvensleben, who later married into the Ditfurth family. On September 30, 1928, the Gunsleben manor district was merged with the Gunsleben rural community.
The Gunsleben community was a member of the Hamersleben administrative community . As a result of the voluntary amalgamation of the municipalities of Gunsleben, Hamersleben and Neuwegersleben , the new municipality of Am Großen Bruch was created on July 1, 2004 , and Gunsleben lost its political independence.
politics
The coat of arms was approved on May 16, 1994 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.
