In the administrative community Harzvorland-Huy of the Harz district ( Saxony-Anhalt ), six communities between Harz and Huy were united to handle their administrative business. It was east of Halberstadt , its seat was in the chess village Ströbeck.

5,329 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​74.85 km² (as of December 31, 2006). The last administrative head of the community was Denis Loeffke.

On January 1, 2010, the administrative community was dissolved. The municipality of Danstedt joined the newly founded unified municipality of North Harz , the remaining five became localities of Halberstadt.
