In the administrative community of Kötzschau in the Merseburg-Querfurt district , four communities were united to handle administrative business. The municipalities of Friedensdorf , Horburg-Maßlau , Kötschlitz , Kötzschau , Kreypau , Luppenau , Nempitz and Zweimen also originally belonged to the administrative community . Luppenau was on 1 January 2005 after Schkopau incorporated, Nempitz joined on 1 April 2006, the administrative community Bad Dürrenberg on. Friedensdorf , Horburg-Maßlau, Kötschlitz, Kötzschau, Kreypau and Zweimen together with the city of Leuna formed the administrative community Leuna-Kötzschau on June 14, 2006 . On September 15, 2006, the four remaining municipalities were also assigned to the Leuna-Kötzschau administrative community with effect from October 1, 2006. The administrative community Kötzschau was dissolved.
