The Vet has the two head rivers of roughly the same length, the Klein Vet (which flows past Winburg ) and Groot Vet, which flow together in the Erfenis Dam near Theunissen . From there the Vet flows roughly northwest. It picks up the sand southwest of Welkom and east of Tierfontein . It flows into the Bloemhof Dam and into the Vaal.
