Vicki Vomit , actually Jens Hellmann , (born July 9, 1963 in Trusetal , GDR ) is a German musician , songwriter and comedian . Vomit plays parodic music with texts ranging from humorous to satirical and socially critical.

Life and career

Hellmann was born in Trusetal ( Thuringian Forest ). In the 1970s the family moved to Erfurt . Following the example of his cousin Tamara Danz , he began to be interested in music at an early age and played in various bands while still at school. In the early 1980s he played as a bass player in the Erfurt teenage band "Prinzz", which disappeared after initial success and only reappeared in the late 1980s under the name "Blitzz" and now as a heavy metal band. "Blitzz" released the album "Do The Blitzz" on Steamhammer / SPV in 1989 , on which Hellmann acted under the name "Flatzz I. Wahnoff". However, "Blitzz" broke up in 1992.

In 1994 Hellmann released his first CD "One Step Forward" as Vicki Vomit on the Berlin label "Neue Zeiten" / Modern Music. Songs like “unemployed and having fun” and “where to go with grandma's corpse” landed on various samplers and thus quickly achieved cult status. In 1998 the CD "Kuschelpunk 5" followed, which was soon banned from appearing under this name due to a threatened lawsuit by Sony Music because of the similarity to their sampler Kuschelrock . In 1999 he switched to the Speyer label Goodlife Records . A live DVD of the band and the album “Für'n Appel und 'n Ei” were released there. From 2011 Vicki Vomit released under his own label Wollmonster Records .
