Names

The school was given its current name in 1996 when the students voted in favor of the name of the Romanist Victor Klemperer . This naming led to close contact between the school and the second wife and widow of Victor Klemperer, Hadwig Klemperer , who, despite her old age, came to Berlin to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the college. In return, until her death (2010) she was regularly visited by fellow students and teachers of the college as part of the Victor Klemperer commemorative trips to Dresden.

External review

In 2014, an external review of the Victor Klemperer College by the Berlin School Inspection took place as planned. In her report, she attested that the school had a friendly teaching atmosphere, caring for its colleagues, and was well equipped with smartboards, computer workstations, a theater stage, cafeteria, modern specialist rooms and a school library.

The evaluation saw particular strengths of the Victor-Klemperer-Kolleg in the committed action of the school management, in the extensive range of lessons, in the creation of specific learning conditions through the use of different media, in the comprehensive advice of the colleagues as well as in the continuous cooperation of the teachers on school priorities.

Development needs were identified in the implementation of the language promotion concept in the classroom, in the promotion of independent learning and the integration of school development projects into an update of the school program.
