Victor Hermann Balke (born September 29, 1931 in Meppen (Illinois) ) is former Bishop of Crookston .

Life

Victor Hermann Balke was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois on May 24, 1958 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Crookston on July 7, 1976 . He received his episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis , John Robert Roach , on September 2 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Joseph Alphonse McNicholas , Bishop of Springfield, Illinois, and William Aloysius O'Connor , Bishop Emeritus of Springfield, Illinois.

On September 28, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
