John Robert Roach (born July 31, 1921 in Prior Lake , † July 11, 2003 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis .

Life

John Robert Roach was ordained a priest on June 18, 1946 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 12, 1971 auxiliary bishop in Saint Paul and Minneapolis and titular bishop of Cenae . The Apostolic Delegate to the United States of America , Luigi Raimondi , ordained him episcopally on September 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Leo Christopher Byrne , Coadjutor Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and Leo Binz , Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.

On May 21, 1975 he was named Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. On September 8, 1995, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
