The Skunk River is a 150 km long river in eastern US -amerikanischen state of Iowa . Its course begins with the confluence of the North Skunk River with the South Skunk River at Ollie in Keokuk County and ends with the confluence with the Mississippi south of Burlington . The Mississippi forms the border between Iowa and Illinois .
The two source rivers are each longer than the river itself:
- The North Skunk River is the shorter of the two source rivers at 208 km. It rises southwest of State Center in Marshall County in central Iowa on 42.0028 ° N , 93.2099 ° W .
- At 298 km, the South Skunk River is the longer of the two source rivers. It rises west of Williams in Hamilton County in north-central Iowa on 42.488 ° N , 93.5927 ° W .
