Victor Kempster (born July 14, 1953 in the United States ) is an American film architect .

Life

Kempster got to know the film industry from scratch. Since the mid-1970s he has been working successively as a production assistant (for “ Between the Lines ”), location manager (for “ The Chosen ”), prop master (for “ Go Tell it to the Mountain ”) and as an outfitter (for the television production “Die Police Chiefs from Delano ”and the films“ Deadly Relationship ”and“ Homefront ”). Under the chief designer Bruno Rubeo , Kempster made his debut in 1987 as a simple film architect (art director).

In the same year, Kempster was allowed to independently design film structures for Roger Vadim's remake of his own cinema classic from 1956, Adams kesse Rippe , for the first time as chief architect (production designer). In 1990 he was hired by the director Oliver Stone for the political conspiracy drama JFK - Tatort Dallas . Kempster remained a permanent member of Stone's team until the turn of the millennium and designed the buildings for a series of high-quality, sometimes controversial prestige films such as Natural Born Killers and Nixon .
