Victor von Eck

Theodor Victor Balhasar von Eck (born August 13, 1813 on the Erlenhof near Mappershain , † August 23, 1893 in Wiesbaden ) was a liberal Nassau politician and former member of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau .

Life

Victor von Eck attended high schools in Hadamar and (1828–1831) in Weilburg . From 1832 he studied law at the universities of Bonn and Heidelberg and in 1839 became a lawyer at the court and appellate court of Usingen . From 1851 he was procurator at the court and appeal court of Wiesbaden . From 1864 to 1866 he was a member of the advisory board of the Landesbank management . In 1873 he was appointed to the judiciary.

In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament . Between 1848 and 1851 he was a member of the assembly of estates for constituency IX (Usingen / Reichelsheim), which at that time was the only chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau. There he belonged to the faction "Club of the Right". From 1852 to 1866 he was a member of the first chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau ( NFP ).

In 1887 he was director of the association for Nassau antiquity and historical research .

family

Victor von Eck was the son of the landowner and member of the Nassau state parliament Johann Friedrich Arnold August von Eck (1785-1870) and his wife Amalie Viktoria nee Grüter (1791-1852). On December 26, 1852, he married Auguste Poesgen (1829–1855), born in Cologne, the daughter of the businessman Karl Poesgen.
