Vidmantas Macevičius

Vidmantas Macevičius (born July 5, 1956 in Inta , Komi Republic , Russia ) is a Lithuanian liberal politician , mayor of Mažeikiai and former energy deputy minister (2015-2019).

Life

After graduating from secondary school, Macevičius completed a diploma course at the Kauno politechnikos institutas in Kaunas and became an electrical engineer . From 1979 he was an electrician at the Mažeikiai power plant , from 1981 shift supervisor, 1989 deputy director and 1990 director. In 1999 Macevičius was general director of the Lithuanian oil company AB Mažeikių nafta . In 2003 Macevičius worked at AB Rytų skirstomieji tinklai as a branch manager in Panevėžys . From 2010 to 2014 he was the director of UAB “Kurana” and in 2014 UAB “EKO TERMO”.

From 2000 to 2003, Vidmantas Macevičius has been mayor of the Mažeikiai Rajonggemeinde since April 2019 . As of January 27, 2015, Macevičius has been Deputy Minister in the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy , Deputy Minister Rokas Masiulis (* 1969) in the Butkevičius cabinet . From January 9, 2017 to April 2019, he was Deputy Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas in the Skvernelis cabinet . He was succeeded by Rytis Kėvelaitis .

Macevičius is a member of the Tvarka ir teisingumas party . From 1999 to 2003 he was a member of Naujoji sąjunga .

Macevičius is married.
