Vierde is a village belonging to the town of Bad Fallingbostel in the Lower Saxony district of Heidekreis .
geography
Vierde is located in the Böhme valley , which is cut around 40 meters into the gently undulating plateaus of the Heidmark (south-western Lüneburg Heath ).
The place is on the state road 163 northeast of Bad Fallingbostel. The hamlet Küddelse and the Doppelhof Klint belong to the village .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document around 1337. The name Vierde is derived from the four courtyards that Vierde once consisted of.
Vierde is still dominated by agriculture today. Generally, in which until the 19th century Schnuckenhaltung the main occupation of the moorland farmers . Only after breaking up the Ortstein , a solid soil horizon, was it possible to cultivate arable land so that new sources of income could be developed with the cultivation of grain and field crops. Culture and sights
- Bronze Age tomb
- The Lieth , mountain-like, up to 40 meters high steep banks of the Böhme. The Doppelhof Klint is named after them, which in Low German means a steep edge of the terrain.
There is a legend about the Hexenberg near Vierde, according to which the horses could hardly pull the wagon with the coffin of a witch who died in the Papenhaus to her burial place on the mountain, and a pig jumped out of the coffin that was finally opened at the Leitzmanns-Hof.
