Mengebostel is a district of Bad Fallingbostel in the Heidekreis district in Lower Saxony .

geography

The place Mengebostel is divided into the parts Obernhausen, Allerhop and Texas. The place is north of Dorfmark and south of Soltau . The Bohemian flows through him .

history

Massenbostel belonged to the Gandersheim monastery until December 24, 1316. Then he came to the Wienhausen / Aller monastery, which had bought the farm.

The Liudolfinger , Duke Liutolf I, had already donated the court in Mengebostel as well as in Wrestedt and two in Jarnsen, all located in the "villa Lahtnathorpe" in Lahtheria-marca / Lachtiandorp-marca / Lachtendorpe / Lachendorf today. The donations were then confirmed again by King Otto I on May 4, 947 in Werla and later by others.

On March 1, 1974, the Mengebostel community was incorporated into the district town of Fallingbostel.

In 2000, the planners of the Expo in Hanover intended to convert Mengebostel into a modern eco-village that follows the motto "People, nature and technology". Were planned u. a. Offices, community gardens, a recycling yard, public solar vehicles and new living space for more than 1000 people. After a public survey (which resulted in 46 yes and 173 no votes) the project was dropped.

Economy and Infrastructure

Entrepreneurial activities can be found primarily in agriculture, forestry and tourism. An inn and a wood processing company are located in the center.

The L163 road runs through the village in a north-south direction from Soltau to Bad Fallingbostel.

There are no street names in Mengebostel. The place name is also the street name. The house numbers are assigned according to the construction sequence.

The club system is limited to the shooting club from 1900 e. V. The club maintains a shooting range.
