Viesturs Bērziņš

Viesturs Bērziņš (born April 9, 1974 in Riga ) is a former Latvian track cyclist and European champion.

Viesturs Bērziņš was - alongside Ainārs Ķiksis - the most successful Latvian track cyclist in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 1998 Bērziņš became European champion in the Omnium Sprint, in 2001 in Brno and 2002 in Büttgen he was third in each case. He had previously won this title in the classic track sprint in 1996. He was also able to place in the top ten in the Keirin twice at the UCI Track World Championships .

Twice, in 1996 and 2000 , Bērziņš took part in the Olympic Games. In 2000 in Sydney he finished eighth in the team sprint together with Ainārs Ķiksis and Ivo Lakučs .
