Viezen is a district of the municipality of Bernitt in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Geography and transport links

The place is north of the core town of Bernitt. To the northwest lies the 96 hectare large nature reserve Beketal .

The A 20 runs to the west and Landesstraße 11 to the east .

history

Viezen was called Vitzen in 1355 . The manor house from around 1900 was renovated. Estate holdings of the 607 hectare estate were u. a. the Sauerland families (until 1914) and Dr. jur. Gustav Asschenfeldt from Hamburg.
On July 1, 1995, the municipality of Viezen was incorporated into Bernitt.
