Viktor Lipsnis
Wiktor Lipsnis ( Ukrainian Віктор Ліпсніс , English transcription Viktor Lipsnis; born December 6, 1933 in Nischyn , † September 25, 1997 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian shot putter who started for the Soviet Union .
In 1958 he won silver at the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm , and in 1960 he was fourth at the Olympic Games in Rome .
A victory at the Universiade in 1961 was followed by another silver medal at the 1962 European Championship in Belgrade and a tenth place at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
From 1960 to 1962 he was Soviet champion three times in a row. He set his personal best of 19.35 m on July 25, 1964 in Los Angeles .
