Viktor Madarász
Viktor Madarász (born December 14, 1830 in Csetnek , † January 10, 1917 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian romantic painter .
He was a soldier and lieutenant in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848/1849 . He later lived in exile and studied painting from 1853 to 1856 in Vienna and with Léon Cogniet in Paris . The years in Paris from 1856 to 1870 were his most productive and successful. He mainly painted motifs from Hungarian history.
