Viktor von Alten (District Administrator)

Viktor Johann Wilhelm von Alten (born September 13, 1854 in Oldenburg (Oldb) , † February 16, 1917 in Groß Strehlitz ) was a German administrative lawyer in Prussia.

Life

Viktor came from the Lower Saxon nobility . He was a son of the Oldenburg upper chamberlain and archaeologist Friedrich Kurd von Alten and his first wife Ida nee. Schorcht (1823-1856). His brothers were the Prussian major general Georg von Alten (1848–1904) and the Prussian chief forest master Paul von Alten (1853–1907).

Viktor von Alten studied at the Eberhard Karls University of Law and in 1873 the Corps Borussia Tübingen recipiert . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. In 1882 he passed the government assessor examination with the government in Potsdam . From 1883 until his death in 1917 he was district administrator in the Upper Silesian district of Groß Strehlitz . He was given the character of a Privy Councilor
