Vila Praia de Âncora is a municipality in the Caminha district of the Viana do Castelo district in Portugal . The community has an area of 8.4 km² 4820 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
The place was renamed from Santa Marinha de Gontinhães to Vila Praia de Âncora in 1924 when the place was raised to Vila ( German small town ), but is still known by the name.
