Villa Münzing
The Villa Muenzing is a Grade II listed building in the Bahnhofstrasse 9 in Heilbronn .
description
The villa was built in 1896 for the manufacturer Albert Münzing according to plans by Ernst Walter and Karl Luckscheiter . The facade of the late historical stone building is provided with design elements in the style of the neo-renaissance.
history
In 1927 Adolf Schnepf's textile wholesaler, founded in Böckingen in 1911, acquired the building. Schnepf built a large department store in today's Klingenberger Strasse in Böckingen in 1931, which was destroyed during the air raid on Böckingen on September 10, 1944 . Villa Münzing was also badly damaged in the air raid on Heilbronn on December 4, 1944. After temporarily moving into alternative quarters in Nordheim , the company headquarters was relocated to the rebuilt Villa Münzing in the post-war period. For decades, the building remained the seat of the textile wholesaler Adolf Schnepf, which was continued until 2012 by son Albert and most recently by Erhard Schnepf after the death of founder Adolf Schnepf (1880–1951).
