Villa rustica 1 (Kay)

The villa rustica 1 on the district of Kay , in the municipality of Tittmoning in Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein , was uncovered in 1837 and the 1846th The villa rustica of the Roman Empire is located about one kilometer northwest of the Church of St. Martin and is a protected ground monument with the file number D-1-7942-0056.

Several building complexes were found in the 19th century and in 1964 the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments examined the external foundation of a farm building. During the excavations in 1993 on a 6600 square meter plot of land, the well-preserved foundations and remains of a multi-phase stone building were examined. The last phase consisted of two opposite rows of rooms, each with six rooms, which were equipped with a portico on one side and surrounded a courtyard.

A smaller, also multi-room building was added to the south of it. A farm yard with stoves was attached to the east side.
