Villigster Research Forum on National Socialism, Racism and Anti-Semitism

The Villigster Research Forum on National Socialism , Racism and Anti-Semitism eV is an institution for researching the history and impact of the world views and ideologies mentioned. It has a close relationship with the Evangelical Study Center Villigst . The first chairmen of the association are Silke Nowak and Mirjam Wenzel.

Story and purpose

It was founded in September 2000 by doctoral students from the Evangelical Student Union based in Haus Villigst in Schwerte . Her work focused on Holocaust and genocide research . In 2003 the research forum was registered as an association . He pursues an interdisciplinary approach from humanities , social and legal disciplines. The first elected board consisted of the first board chairman Hans-Joachim Hahn and the second board chairwoman Astrid Mignon Kirchhof. After a while, Kirchhof took over the chairmanship and Hahn took over the second chairmanship.

There is contact and exchange between the Studienwerk and the research forum. In particular, the projects of the Studienwerk in the field of Holocaust and anti-Semitism research are to be supported and a supraregional and international network of scientists is to be established. The research forum offers various events such as international conferences and annual general meetings, but also public symposia and workshops ( Jewish Museum Berlin , German Resistance Memorial Center, etc.) as well as research projects and scientific publications on the topic.
