Vilma Mönckeberg-Kollmar

Vilma Mönckeberg-Kollmar (born July 29, 1892 in Vienna , † April 4, 1985 in Hamburg ; born Vilma Pratl ) was a German literary scholar , language teacher and reciter from Hamburg.

Life

Born Vilma Pratl in Vienna on July 29, 1892, after attending secondary school for girls in Bromberg and Düsseldorf, she trained as an actor in Berlin. Her first stage engagements took her to Lüneburg and Hamburg. During her engagement at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus she married a son of the mayor Johann Georg Mönckeberg , the lawyer Adolph Mönckeberg (1881-1914). This fell at the beginning of the First World War in Flanders before the birth of their son Jasper Adolf Mönckeberg (1915–1942), who perished in "Russia" during the Second World War. After the war she married the entrepreneur, art collector and painter Wilhelm Kollmar.

Vilma Mönckeberg-Kollmar was active in the Catholic youth movement Quickborn . In 1924 she was a lecturer in lecturing art at the Westphalian Academy for Movement, Language and Music.

Especially after 1945 she became known for her linguistic and literary publications and with lectures in which she recited and analyzed fairy tales . She had published the fairy tales she had collected in two volumes in 1924 and 1930. Mönckeberg-Kollmar was also recognized by experts in the field of poetry reproduction. The Hölderlin Society published their Hölderlin recitations on record in 1977, making use of both historical and new recordings with the reciter.

Vilma Mönckeberg-Kollmar was buried in the Blankenese cemetery , the grave site has already been abandoned.
