Viloco is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Viloco is the most populous place in the municipality of Cairoma in the province of Loayza . The village of Viloco is located at an altitude of 4270 m in one of the western valleys of the Cordillera Quimsa Cruz .
geography
Viloco lies between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. The region has a typical daytime climate in which the temperature differences between day and night are greater than the mean temperature differences between the seasons.
The mean average temperature of the region is 9 ° C, the annual precipitation is 500 to 600 mm (see climate diagram Viloco), with a pronounced dry season from May to August with monthly values of less than 15 mm.
Infrastructure
Viloco is located at a distance of 153 km by road southeast of La Paz , the capital of the department of the same name.
A country road leads from La Paz along the Río de la Paz via the Zona Sur and Mecapaca to the southeast. After about 98 kilometers, the Río de la Paz is left at an altitude of 1710 m, the road now rises and reaches Viloco after another 55 kilometers.
