The municipality Cairoma is a district in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes -State Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Cairoma is one of five municipalities in the Loayza Province and is located in the northeastern part of the province. It borders the province of Murillo in the northwest , the municipality Sapahaqui in the west, the municipality Luribay in the southwest , the municipality Malla in the southeast , the province Inquisivi in the east , and the province Sud Yungas in the north .
The municipality has 52 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Cairoma with 562 inhabitants in the southeastern part of the district, the largest place in the municipality is Viloco with 1,656 inhabitants. ( 2012 census )
geography
The municipality of Cairoma is located at an average altitude of 4000 m in the Serranía de Sicasica cordillera , between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. The climate of the region is a typical time of day climate , in which the temperature fluctuations during the day are greater than during the year.
The mean average temperature of the region is 9 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate between around 5 ° C in June / July and 11 ° C in November / December.
