Mecapaca is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Mecapaca is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Mecapaca in the province of Murillo . The village is located on a mountain spur at an altitude of 2877 m on the left bank of the Río de la Paz , which flows south from the department capital La Paz towards the Río Beni .

Mecapaca is located on the eastern slopes of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central at the transition to the Bolivian lowlands. The region's climate is typical of the time of day , in which the mean fluctuation in temperatures during the day is more pronounced than during the year.
