Vincent T. Hamlin
Vincent Trout Hamlin (born May 10, 1900 in Perry , Iowa , † June 14, 1993 in Brooksville , Florida ) was an American comic book artist and cartoonist .
life and work
Hamlin served during the First World War, the age of seventeen in France in the US Army . Upon his return, he graduated from high school , then studied journalism and became a reporter in Iowa. After moving to Texas , Hamlin worked as a reporter, photographer and cartoonist for various newspapers. In 1932 he started the Stone Age series Alley Oop , which he managed as a daily strip until 1971, before handing it over to his assistant Dave Graue.
