Vincenzo Berardis

Vincenzo Ermete Luigi Berardis (born June 21, 1889 in Dongo , † 1954 in Stresa ) was an Italian diplomat .

Life

Berardis completed a degree in political science and colonial science on November 25, 1912 at the University of Rome , where he was awarded a degree in economics on July 10, 1913 .

On July 20, 1920 he entered the foreign service. In 1921 he was sent to Split as Vice Consul . In 1922 he was employed at the embassy in Belgrade , in 1924 at the embassy in Rio de Janeiro , in 1925 in the embassy in Caracas , in 1926 in the embassy in Helsingfors and in 1928 in the embassy in Athens .

Berardis was from July 1933 to 1938 counselor at the Italian embassy in Moscow . From 1938 to 1944 he was ambassador to Dublin . As such, in February 1942, he had the Irish version of the film Sundown (1941 film) removed from the scenes that he believed attacked the honor of the Italian army .
