Vinko (Vincenz) Jelić (actually Jeličić ; * 1596 in Rijeka (then "Fiume"), † after July 24, 1636 in Saverne ) was a Croatian-Italian composer of the Baroque .

Live and act

In 1606, Jelić and his brother Peter became Kapellknabe of the court orchestra in Graz , which was under the direction of Matthia Ferrabosco . After 1609 he entered the Ferdinandeum as a treble player and studied at a grammar school, later at the University of Graz , where he continued his musical studies with Reimundo Ballestra . From 1618 at the latest he was a musician ( tenorist and later instrumentist ) at the court of the Emperor's brother, Archduke Leopold V , Bishop of Strasbourg and Passau , in Zabern. From then on he called himself by the surname Jelić. In 1618 Jélic was ordained a priest.
