Vinzenz Ritter von Miller zu Aichholz (born December 9, 1827 in Vienna ; † December 14, 1913 there ) was an Austrian industrialist and patron from the Miller-Aichholz family .

Life

The oldest son of the successful Tyrolean entrepreneur Josef von Miller zu Aichholz joined the family business in 1841 and from 1845 headed the Trieste branch. With the gradual ennoblement of the father, the family name of the sons also changed: Vinzenz Franz Josef Maria Miller was allowed to call himself: Vinzenz Miller zu Aichholz since 1856, since 1860: Vinzenz von Miller zu Aichholz; since 1865: Vinzenz Ritter von Miller zu Aichholz.

After Josef von Miller zu Aichholz's death, Vinzenz took over the management of his father's group of companies, which he successfully expanded. Among other things, he became a major shareholder in the Marienthal textile factory . In 1878 General Councilor, in 1892 Vice-Governor of the Austro-Hungarian Bank, President of the Stock Exchange Chamber from 1891 to 1910, Vinzenz von Miller zu Aichholz also appeared as a patron of the arts. He was friends with Johannes Brahms , Karl Goldmark and Julius Korngold , among others . Politically, he belonged to the liberal direction. In 1891 he became a lifelong member of the Austrian mansion and belonged to the faction of the German-liberal constitutional party .

Vinzenz von Miller zu Aichholz found his final resting place in the family crypt on the Hütteldorfer Friedhof .
