Violeta Andrei

Violeta Andrei (born March 21, 1941 in Brașov ) is a Romanian actress who also starred in several DEFA feature films.

Life

Andrei studied at the National University of Theater and Film Arts “Ion Luca Caragiale” in Bucharest , then worked as an actress at various theaters in Romania and finally became a permanent member of the Sturdza Bulandra Theater in Bucharest. From the 1960s, film and television productions followed. Andrei became one of the most famous actresses of the 1970s in Romania and also worked several times in the GDR for some DEFA feature films, such as Severino . In this 1978 film, she played the chief's daughter Maruja at the side of Gojko Mitić .

She was married to the former Romanian Foreign Minister Ștefan Andrei .
