Viorica Țigau

Viorica Țigău (born August 12, 1979 in Galați ) is a former Romanian athlete and bobsleigh athlete .

Ţigău won the heptathlon bronze medal at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1998 and was Eighteenth in the 2000 Olympics . Her personal best was 6289 points, measured in Bucharest. Țigău also competed in the Olympic Games in 2000, 2008 and 2012 in the long jump , but was eliminated in each qualification. At the 2009 European Indoor Championships Țigău was ninth and at the 2012 World Indoor Championships seventh. Her personal best was 6.85 m, achieved in Bucharest in 2000. Between 2000 and 2012 she was six times Romanian champion in the 100 m hurdles, five times in the long jump and once in the heptathlon.

In addition, Țigău ran bobsleigh in winter , trained by Paul Neagu in Winterberg. In 2005 she became Junior World Champion with Maria Spirescu at Königssee .
