Virginijus Martišauskas

Virginijus Martišauskas (born July 22, 1946 in Kaunas , † April 29, 2015 in Pilaitė , Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian politician and journalist .

Life

After graduating from the Jonas Jablonskis Middle School in 1964 , he graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology at the Vilniaus universitetas with a diploma in journalism in 1970 . From 1969 to 1974 he worked for the daily newspaper "Vakarinės naujienos" as a senior correspondent. From 1974 to 1994 he was editor of the television programs "Keliai, mašinos, žmonės", "01, 02, 03", "Keturi ratai" at Lietuvos televizija . From 1990 to 1991 he was editor-in-chief of the magazine "Ratai". From 1994 to 1996 he worked for the television station “ Laisvas ir nepriklausomas kanalas ”.

He was a deputy on the Vievis Town Council in the Trakai district . From 1996 to 2004 he was a member of the Seimas . From 2012 he was editor of the newspaper "Krašto naujienos".

From 1996 to 1997 he was a member of the Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga , then until 2004 of the Liberal cent ir centro sąjunga .
