Vito Eckart Eduard Moriz von Eichborn (born December 7, 1943 in Magdeburg ) is a German publisher from the Eichborn family .

Career

The former journalist and editor of the Fischer publishing house founded in 1980 together with Matthias Kierzek, co-owner of the Fulda publishing house, in Frankfurt the calibration fount publishing . In 1989, Eichborn took over the series Die Andere Bibliothek from Greno Verlag, edited by Hans Magnus Enzensberger . 1992 were additionally Merchandising products (around the mainly small asshole by Walter Moers included in the program). Because the 50:50 partners had different strategic views and in order to pay off his high private debts, Vito von Eichborn sold his half of the publishing house to Kierzek in 1995. For the time being he worked as a consultant, supervisor of Walter Moers' work and editor at the publishing house until he left entirely in 1997. He then became managing director at Rotbuch Verlag and the Europäische Verlagsanstalt .

In May 1999 Vito von Eichborn bought Europa Verlag for Senator Entertainment AG from Berlin and relocated the publishing house to Hamburg . As before, he published literature and entertainment, popular non-fiction and humor. His edition by Noam Chomsky was particularly successful . When Senator went bankrupt in 2004 , Eichborn and Arne Teutsch took over the publishing house via management buy-out . In August 2005 he got out completely and handed over his shares to Teutsch.

Vito von Eichborn has been working as a freelance journalist since then, as an editor , editor, literary agent and author . He lives in Timmdorf / Malente and has had a son since 1967 (Thimon von Eichborn).

He founded the Vitolibro publishing house, where he initially published "books that were wrongly out of print". Since 2016, the publisher's focus has been on northern German regionalia.
