Vittorio Carpignano
Vittorio Ettore Carpignano (born May 8, 1918 in Montechiaro d'Asti ) is an Italian documentary filmmaker .
Life
Carpignano was a student at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia from 1938 to 1940 and was a winner of the Littoriali della Cultura e dell'Arte in 1939. After graduating in photography , he devoted himself to documentary film .
He founded the company Recta Films , for which works such as Spighe bianche , Acque fecondo or Incontro con Roma and many others were created. Even Luciano Emmer , his brother in law, worked for the production company. Shortly after the Second World War , Carpignano was exceptionally active for a feature film; with Emilio Cordero he directed Inquietudine in 1946 . He only shot again in 1953: a few scenes for Gli eroi dell'Artide . In 1955 he wrote the script for a historical adventure film . He also worked for television such as the popular Carosello show .
In 1957 he won the award for the best educational short film at the Cork Film Festival .
