Vladas Butėnas
Vladas Butėnas (born July 15, 1940 in Anykščiai , † May 15, 2009 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian journalist and politician.
Life
He studied in the sanatorium school Aukštoji Panemunė ( Kaunas ), then in the middle schools in Kavarskas , Kėdainiai , Radviliškis , Agrozootechnikum Šiauliai . In 1968 he completed his diploma in journalism at the Vilniaus universitetas and then the party college of the CPSU in Moscow . He has a PhD in history . From 1960 to 1968 he worked in Kuršėnai as a zoo technician, from 1968 employee of Komsomol and Lietuvos komunistų partija, from 1988 to 1992 as editor-in-chief of the newspaper " Valstiečių laikraštis ", from 1992 as a freelance journalist. From 1992 to 1996 he was a member of the Seimas .
From 1989 he was a member of the Central Committee of the LKP, from 1990 a member of the council of Lietuvos Demokratieinė darbo partija .
