Vladimír Šatura

Vladimír Šatura SJ (born October 27, 1923 in Jablonec , Pezinok , Slovakia ; † November 2, 2008 in Wels , Upper Austria ) was a Jesuit , theologian , psychologist and anthropologist .

Life

Vladimír Šatura joined the religious order of the Society of Jesus on July 30, 1939 , studied theology and psychologist in Rome and was ordained a priest on July 9, 1949 . Since 1963 he has taught psychology and anthropology at the theological faculty of the University of Innsbruck . In 1969 he completed his habilitation with the thesis “Structure and Genesis of the Person: the Psychological Image of Man” and received the venia legendi for “Christian Philosophy with Special Consideration of Psychology”. In 1974 he was appointed associate professor and was employed at the Institute for Christian Philosophy at the Innsbruck Theological Faculty. Šatura was the initiator of the pastoral psychology course. In 1984 he retired.

In addition to pastoral activities, Vladimír Šatura was active as an author in Grießkirchen in Upper Austria, in Bratislava as well as in Steyr and Thalheim near Wels.

He was buried in his birthplace Jablonec, Slovakia.
