Vladimír grains
Vladimír Körner (born October 12, 1939 in Prostějov ) is a Czech scriptwriter, dramaturge and writer.
Life
His father was shot dead during the Czech uprising in the last days of the war . He first attended the industrial film school in Čimelice from 1954 to 1957 . From 1958 to 1963 he studied dramaturgy at the FAMU film academy in Prague - with Milan Kundera and František A. Dvořák , among others . From 1962 to 1970 he worked in the Barrandov film studio as a dramaturge and until 1991 as a screenwriter. Vladimír Körner today lives in Prague as one of the most famous contemporary Czech authors.
Works
Most of his literary publications were originally intended for the film. His first work, the volume of short stories Splittern im Gras (Střepiny v trávě, 1964) was followed by the novel Blinder [river] poor (Slepé rameno). These two books are about the destructive effects of war on the human psyche. He also dealt with the war theme in the novella Adelheid , 1967, filmed two years later by František Vláčil . In 1967 Vláčil filmed the Valley of the Bees (Údolí včel), a kind of continuation of the novel The Sand Spit (Písečná kosa, 1970) about the Teutonic Knights Order in the 13th century. His work is mostly about existential narrowness and hopelessness.
Körner's complete works were not among the high points of Czech literature, but rather received official support. However, some of his books have been filmed very well.
