Vladimir Tell (born July 15, jul. / 27. July  1899 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia ; † 2. March 1925 ) was an Estonian footballer .

Career

Vladimir Tell began his footballing career at the age of 17 with Tallinna SS Olümpia . In 1920 he joined the SK Tallinna Sport . With the club he was able to win the Estonian championship three times in the 1920s. As a striker in 1921 and 1924 he took second place in the list of goalscorers twice behind Heinrich Paal and Oskar Üpraus .

In October 1920 Tell made his debut for the Estonian national team against Finland in Helsinki, the game also represented the Estonians' first international match.

For the national team, Tell was able to score 5 goals in a total of 11 international matches from 1920 to 1924. In 1923, Tell became the first national player in his country to score a hat trick in the international match against Lithuania ; at the same time, Tell's goal in the first minute of the game counts as the fastest goal in the international history of the Baltic state.

Vladimir Tell fell ill with tuberculosis in the spring of 1924 . He died in 1925 at the age of 25.
