The Vodafone radio tower in Stuttgart- Vaihingen is a 98.6 meter high cell phone tower made by Vodafone .
The unusual tripod- like construction made of concrete tubes was erected in December 1998 in just four days. The tower has eight antenna platforms that are 58 meters, 62.5 meters, 67.5 meters, 70 meters, 75 meters, 77.5 meters, 80 meters and 82.5 meters high.
The radio tower is used for the directional radio connection of mobile radio base stations to the switching center ( MSC ), which is located in an operations building below the tower.
An identical tower is located on the premises of the Vodafone exchange in the Mallau area in Mannheim-Rheinau .
