The natural monument is located northeast of Braunshardt in the Feldflur, about 460 meters east of the district road 165 to Schneppenhausen . It extends over a narrow parcel 17 meters wide and 170 meters long. Its area is 2,994 square meters. About 100 meters north of it is the natural monument " Schlossteich auf der Braunshardter Weide ".

description

The bird sanctuary "Ewigerstump" is the remnant of a former field wood island called "Vogelschutzbrutstätte Langgewann", which has largely disappeared after the land consolidation in 1936. The trees that are planted include black elder , common privet , European larch , occasional spruce and beech . The book is a long time ago geschneitelt been and thus more stocky. Small stocks of goldenrod grow on the edge of the wood . The natural monument serves as a bird protection wood for hedge and ground-nesting birds as well as weather protection for small mammals.

The protection status was applied for in 1954 by the owners of the site. After the sale in 1970, the deletion of the natural monument was requested. However, this was refused in December 1970 after a hearing.
