The Voith Turbo High Flex GmbH & Co. KG , based in Essen was until the end of April 2015 a legally independent subsidiary of Voith GmbH, Heidenheim an der Brenz registered. Since April the company has been merged again with Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG and deleted from the commercial register. All activities of the previously legally independent company will be continued in the new constellation.

The company is active in the mechanical engineering industry and develops, produces and sells connection components / couplings .

history

In 1967 the company Gerd Küsel joint drives was founded to repair and manufacture cardan shafts . Küsel GmbH & Co. Antriebe Limited Partnership and Küsel Antriebe GmbH were later established . 1974 saw the establishment of an additional product line for torsionally flexible couplings of the "Küsel coupling" type.

In 1998 the company was bought by Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG and Voith Küsel Antriebe GmbH was founded . In 2003 it was merged with Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG. In 2006, a spin-off of Voith Turbo Hochelastische Kupplungen GmbH & Co. KG followed. Due to significant internationalization and the expansion of the product portfolio, the company will be renamed Voith Turbo HighFlex GmbH & Co. KG from October 1, 2012.

Products

The company develops, produces and sells torsionally flexible / torsion flexible couplings and coupling systems ( torsional coupling / torsional vibration damper ), flexible couplings (angular, axial, radially flexible), electromagnetic clutches, cardan shafts and assembly bearings (motor feet).

It also creates torsional vibration analysis (TVA or Torsional Vibration Calculation, TVC) and service life analyzes for natural rubber couplings and performs torsional vibration measurements (TVM).

Applications

The products are used in the rail industry ( locomotives , railcars , express trains , special rail vehicles, trams ), on engine test benches, in construction machinery ( wheel loaders , graders , mobile cranes , dump trucks ), in the navy ( work boats, leisure boats, ferries , speedboats ) and in oil and gas industry ( pump and compressor drives ), in the size reduction industry ( mills , shredders , crushers ), in steel production ( rolling mills ), in power generation (gensets) and in other industries ( paper machines , fan drives ).
