Vojens (German Woyens ) is a city in Denmark . It extends over the parish communities ( Danish : Sogn ) Vojens Sogn , Skrydstrup Sogn and Jegerup Sogn . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Gram Herred in what was then Haderslev Amt , after which it became the center of Vojens Kommune in what was then Sønderjyllands Amt , which was merged into the "new" Haderslev Kommune in the Syddanmark region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform .

Vojens station links the Fredericia – Flensburg and Vojens – Haderslev lines . To the south of the city lies the Skrydstrup military airfield , Denmark's only fighter aircraft base.

Vojens is known nationwide for the Vojens Speedway Center , which is owned by former world champion Ole Olsen and opened in 1975. The Speedway Individual World Championship final took place in the Speedwaysport Arena with a capacity of 22,000 spectators in 1988 and 1994, and since 1995 there has been a regular World Championship Grand Prix as part of the Speedway Individual World Championship. In recent years the Nordic GP has been held in Vojens, as the Danish Grand Prix is ​​held in the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.
