Vojtěch Pikal (born February 19, 1987 in Olomouc ) is a Czech politician of the Česká pirátská strana (ČPS). In 2010/2011 he was co-chair of the international umbrella organization of pirate parties ( Pirate Parties International (PPI)).

education

Pikal graduated from the Slovanské Gymnázium Olomouc (German: Slavic Gymnasium Olomouc ) in his hometown and then studied computer science at the Palacký University in Olomouc , initially with a bachelor's degree . He is currently studying for a master's degree in computer science and mathematics. He also works as a software developer .

Political activity

Pikal has been a member of the Czech pirate party ČPS since February 2012. From 2013 to 2014 he was co-chairman of the international umbrella organization of the pirate parties PPI alongside Grégory Engels from the Pirate Party Germany .

Pikal is also a founding member and treasurer of the youth organization Mladí Piráti (German: Young Pirates ).

He ran in May 2014 in fourth place on the party list in the European elections . But the party did not get the required number of votes.
