Volkan T , Volkan T error , Volkan Terror , Sayko Bass (born April 20, 1973 in Tauberbischofsheim, bourgeois Volkan Türeli ) is a German-Turkish musician, producer, rapper, actor, performer from Berlin and is considered a pioneer of Turkish hip-hop in Germany.

biography

Growing up in Frankfurt am Main , he first came into contact with music from metalcore and noise as a teenager . An encounter with DJ Mahmut brought him closer to hip-hop culture. He was a member of the band Gentle Veincut and played bass and darbuka on their 1994 debut album "Cupid Mount Etna" . Volkan T. could also be heard on the second album "The Return Of Mrs. Brain" from 1997, but moved to Berlin that same year.

In Berlin, where he initially worked as a doorman, he came into contact with various hip-hop artists, including a. with Killa Hakan . In 1998 his solo debut "Lava" appeared, in which well-known artists from the Turkish hip-hop scene were involved. In the following years he was involved as a producer and DJ on releases by Kool Savas , Tone and D-Flame and founded the record label Ruffmix Records . In 2008 his second album "Sprich Deutsch oder dies" was released, the title of which is supposed to be based on the SOD album " Speak English or Die ". He also played bass with the metalcore bands Devil Inside and Doom Day and worked with Hatebreed and the Dropkick Murphys .

In addition to his activities as a musician, he produced radio plays and soundtracks for film and theater together with Toby Dope . He studied in Berlin and is the father of two children.
