Jakob Nobs (born November 11, 1883 in Nidau ; † April 9, 1986 in Thun ; reformed , resident in Schüpfen ) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Jakob Nobs was born on November 11, 1883 as the son of Jakob Nobs Senior in Nidau. He completed an apprenticeship as a machine designer at the Technikum Biel, which he graduated with a diploma in 1907. As a result, he gained professional experience at home and abroad. Afterwards Nobs worked as operations manager of the mechanical workshop of the Bernese power plants in Nidau, from 1914 of Berna Milk in Thun.

In 1917 Jakob Nobs founded a mechanical workshop in Thun, from which a limited partnership and in 1968 Nobs & Cie. AG emerged . In his factory in Gwatt , mainly cold forming presses, strip cutting and strip processing systems were manufactured, of which around half were exported.

In 1931 he also acted as the commander of the 8th Infantry Brigade and as the president of the cantonal officers' society. Jakob Nobs, who remained unmarried, died on April 9, 1986 in Thun.
