In addition to his work at the city theaters, Laturell wrote a book about Munich's theater history. This was followed by publications on Munich's district history - with a focus on Moosach and Feldmoching - and on Munich and Bavarian folk culture.

Together with his late colleague and friend Georg Mooseder, Laturell has created extensive archives on the history of the districts of Moosach and Feldmoching .
