Volker Grobe

Volker Gröbe (born February 18, 1947 in Halberstadt ) is a writer in Cologne dialect .

Life

Volker Gröbe has lived in Cologne since New Year's Eve 1955/56 . After attending primary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a fitter . He then trained as a mechanical engineer. After four years of service in the armed forces , he attended evening grammar school , where he obtained his Abitur . Thus admitted to the course his eagerness to learn continued and he studied German , geography , philosophy , Catholic theology and education at the University of Cologne .

As a teacher, Gröbe worked at a high school and at an evening grammar school . He then worked for over 15 years in the management of a Cologne cultural foundation. From 1983 to 1997 he was the director of the Akademie för uns kölsche Sproch . He was also active as president of a carnival society , in the literary committee of the festival committee Cologne Carnival and in the Cologne Carnival Museum. He has been active as a cultural manager since 1997.

To date, Gröbe has written 27 books - 23 in Cologne dialect -, as editor he published 22 books and contributed to 10 other publications as an author.

He gained national fame through his translation work for the Asterix op kölsch and as a language coach for the literary film adaptation : Teufelsbraten , based on the novel The hidden word , by Ulla Hahn .

Volker Gröbe is married and has two sons.
